Our Heart

Creating a culture of people who live life the way Jesus intended:

Spirit filled, Kingdom focused.

Vision

We long to see the people of God live Spirit-led lives every day, to do the things that Jesus did, to become a people who worship in spirit and in truth. Our heart is also to disciple, train, and empower people to walk in the gifts God gave them, to unite the Body of Christ the Church and people who are hungry for real encounters with an almighty God.

We believe there can be a Kingdom culture in the city of Greenville; and we believe it’s the very heart of God that we (as the Church, the Body) become it. Our vision is to create a culture in Greenville that embodies every aspect of the Kingdom of God, a city that looks like Heaven on earth.

“Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…” Matthew 6:10

As a member of the Body of Christ and as a ministry, our heart resounds for unity with the rest of the Body. We believe that unless the Church of Greenville functions together that God’s full dream for this city will not be accomplished. So, by God’s direction, we are doing all that we can to make it possible to work with the rest of the Body here in Greenville.

Instead of Sundays, we meet on Friday nights. If another church or ministry here in the city (for example) has an incredible homeless ministry, we’re not going to start our own. We’re going to pray for them, ask to partner with them, and serve with them.

Our Beliefs

We believe there is only one God who spoke and speaks ALL into existence, loves us all with unending love, and desires all to be reconciled to Him. He is God three in one, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is holy, sovereign, perfect, and is seated above all else.

We believe that we are born into sin, and sin separates us from a holy God and the life He intended for us to live (Romans 5:15-17).

We believe that Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin, came to earth fully God and fully man, and lived a sinless life. He gave His life for our sins, defeated death, and came back to life after being dead for 3 days. He conquered sin and death and because of it we are no longer separated from eternal life or a direct relationship with him.

We believe eternal life and complete forgiveness of sins comes from believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord of all and was raised from the dead. (Romans 10:8-13).

We believe the Bible is the God breathed, Holy Spirit-inspired, infallible Word of God given to us as an example by which to live (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We believe we are a continuation of the church established in the New Testament, and therefore, we should live Kingdom-minded as Jesus exemplified.

We believe that we must follow the example of the early Christians in baptizing with water and in the Holy Spirit if we are to experience the fullness of the presence of God and be empowered to do His ministry in the earth by the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:1-10).

We believe in the reality of heaven and hell, and that the love of God in sending Jesus to redeem us created the way for us to spend eternity with Him in heaven. However, Jesus prayed for God’s will “to be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10),” and we believe that salvation is not simply a means to an end but is instead the beginning of fellowship with God even here on earth (John 10:7-10, John 6:35-40).

We believe that Jesus will come back again.
